Access (Disability)

Tampere Hall hosts an unrivalled range of events and we seek to do our utmost to ensure that every member of society are able to come and enjoy the conferences, meetings, concerts, shows and dining facilities that we offer. As such, we have taken great care to ensure that Tampere Hall offers equal access and to every visitor – regardless of any limitations they may have in terms of their sight, hearing or movement.

This commitment to access is demonstrated before one even enters the building; most notably by the way that Tampere Hall has gentle slopes leading up to our automatic main doors. In addition, the handrail at both top and bottom of the steps has tactile indicators to indicate the end of the handrail.

Rooms and Auditoria

Both Main and Small Auditoriums and the Studio have designated space in the aisles for wheelchair users and those who may be attending the event with them. We have also produced a special plan of our building for those that are unable to use stairs and escalators. We are also always more than willing to allow any visitor with a physical impairment early access to any of our rooms or spaces so that they had ample time to take their seat.

Furthermore, we have made sure that the significant proportion of the population who use hearing aids are catered for by ensuring that we have high-quality induction loop systems covering a large number of seats in both the Main and Small Auditoriums.

Lifts

We have lifts which give access to all the floors in our building, and the lift in our entrance hall also provides the best access to Café Soolo for wheelchair users. If you would like assistance of any kind, then our Front of house personnel – distinguishable by the smart blue jackets – are also more than willing to help.

Disabled Toilets

The toilets in Tampere Hall are located on both the ground and first floors. Toilets with the best access for the disabled are indicated in the floor plans in the disability guide.

Parking

Tampere Hall has a number of parking spaces reserved for the sole use of disabled guests. In addition we also provide a short stay (15 minute) parking space in front of the main entrance of Tampere Hall for disabled people visiting the Box Office.

More information is available in the Tampere Hall disability guide which we would be pleased to send you. If you would like to request a copy then please phone us on +358 3 243 4111.
