Aili Ikonen, one of the brightest stars of Finnish jazz music, publishes her new album “Suru ei oo suora viiva” in September 2020.
Her music portrays themes such as comfort, trust, letting go and surrendering to life. Aili Ikonen has written the songs, and the arrangements have been made by the band’s bass player Mikko Pellinen.
“In all encounters of life, I see a shift between light and shadow, and the space that is in between them, where the colours blend. I am intrigued by this space, and everything it brings to the surface in me and all of us. My new album features songs of new beginnings, the beauty of darkness and letting go.”
Ikonen performs together with the quintet that she has been collaborating with for nine years and four albums.
