Dalindèo is a Helsinki-based jazz-sextet led by composer-guitarist Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen. The group is well-known as a true pioneer of Finnish jazz, stirring up the traditional style with an intense and warm-hearted live act. Their latest release, the Dark Money EP, reacts to the chaotic state that the world currently is in. It also raises discussion about current topics of today’s society.
Inspired by Miles Davis and his 1970s early fusion jazz as well as by Charles Mingus’ explosive live energy and Sun Ra’s psychedelic space jazz, Dalindèo’s new music is closely bound to the political jazz music era of the 1960s.
