Musical theatre star Jennie Storbacka joins the Finnish Air Force Big Band as soloist in a sparkling concert where the grand emotions of musical theatre meet the glamour of classic jazz. Expect an unforgettable evening filled with larger-than-life moments: the programme features well-known songs from musicals such as Chicago and Moulin Rouge, atmospheric jazz ballads, and swinging rhythms—all in magnificent big band arrangements.

Jennie Storbacka is a singer, actress, and vocal coach (CVT certified) whose charisma and expressive power have captivated audiences on major theatre stages as well as in intimate jazz clubs. She is known especially for her role as Satine in the Helsinki City Theatre production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Jennie has also been a long-time vocal coach on The Voice of Finland.
Chief conductor Music Major Ville Paakkunainen has previously served as conductor of the Guards Band as well as chief conductor of the Defence Forces Conscript Band and the Lapland Military Band. In addition to the Defence Forces’ ensembles, he has conducted the Academic Wind Orchestra, Lahti Symphonic Wind Orchestra, and the orchestras of the Tampere Conservatoire, and has given guest performances. Paakkunainen has also worked as a clarinettist and teacher of clarinet, trained wind orchestras, and taught conducting at the Military Music School. He has been Chief Conductor of the Finnish Air Force Big Band since 2023.
The Finnish Air Force Big Band is Finland’s only military band specializing in rhythm music, known for its energetic performances with top Finnish soloists. The band consists of 21 musicians, and its annual season includes the AALTO big band concert series, the Defence Forces’ MILjazz tour, music education projects, national defence events, and Air Force PR work. Based at the Air Force garrison in Tikkakoski, Jyväskylä, the ensemble was founded in 1977 and has long-standing traditions in big band music.

Tickets and Payment
Only card payments are accepted – cash is not in use.
Online ticket sales close on the day of the event at 2 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the door if seats are still available.
Advance sales for Show & Dinner packages end 3 days before the event date. After this, reservations must be made directly with the restaurant: ravintola.palatsi@komediateatteri.fi
Seating Arrangements
Show & Dinner Events
- Unnumbered seating and shared tables are in use.
- Tables seat at least two smaller groups together, and staff will assist with seating.
- Tickets purchased in the same order will always be placed at the same table.
- Large groups will be seated close together where possible.
- If tickets are purchased through different orders, we cannot guarantee seating at the same table or adjacent seats.
