A legend among legends, Markku Aro is an iconic performer in Finnish schlager music, known by the whole nation. He is rightly described as a consummate professional in his field and unquestionably one of Finland’s most popular schlager stars. Incredible but true: Markku mounted his first-ever solo concert tour only in 2019, in celebration of his 70th birthday. In 2026, he will embark on the second tour of his career, titled MARKKU ARO – Greatest Hits – Suurimmat hitit.
The year 1968 marked his true breakthrough with the hit Käyn uudelleen eiliseen (“I Go Back to Yesterday”), followed by an impressive line-up of beloved songs that Finnish audiences have come to cherish: Hyvännäköinen, Moskiitto, Jestas sentään, Oma kultasein, Anna kaikkien kukkien kukkia, Etsin kunnes löydän sun, Pois sun vien, Kun sä vierelläin sateessa oot, Loit elämälle pohjaa, Keskiyön aikaan, and Ollaan lähekkäin. Time after time, Markku brings his recognizable, warm voice to record listeners—and you can expect the same on the upcoming concert tour.
“I’m looking forward to next spring and the new concert tour with great excitement. It’s wonderful to get back on the road, visit concert halls again, meet people, and create amazing evenings,” Aro says.

Enjoy a buffet-style selection featuring, among other delights, locally produced cheeses, cold cuts, and mouth-watering marinated treats. Special dietary requirements are accommodated based on advance notice at the time of booking. A pre-booked seat at the antipasto table served before the performance €22.90. The table is set 1.5 hours before the performance begins on the 3rd floor of Tampere Hall. There is a bar in the space where drinks can be ordered on the spot. Check whether the menu is available for the performance and come enjoy!
