Warmly welcome to a community sing-along in the Small Auditorium of Tampere Hall on Monday, 7 December 2026 at 6:00 PM. Admission is free of charge, and the event lasts approximately two hours, including an intermission.
Internationally acclaimed opera star Mika Kares, together with pianist Tuukka Vähätalo, invites you to a concert where the audience plays an essential role in the performance. The evening offers the joy of singing, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds. The programme includes familiar melodies as well as surprising gems that challenge and inspire everyone to sing their hearts out.
The sing-along will be led by bass Mika Kares, with whom each piece is interpreted with full commitment and wholehearted expression. Together with Kares and Vähätalo, every participant will experience what it feels like to sing with great emotion and full heart alongside others.
Special attention has been given to the repertoire, which includes musical challenges in terms of lyrics, rhythm, melody, harmony, and vocal range. The evening features 20 songs performed together, commentary by Mika Kares, and surprise numbers.
“I began developing this community singing concept in my hometown of Eurajoki in 2014. It became an integral part of the classical singing festival Eurajoki Bel Canto and at the same time serves as a local cultural service for residents. Over the years, these events have been held more than twenty times. The basic idea is that anyone can come and sing anything from opera arias to tango, from art songs to musicals, and from popular hits to children’s songs,” says Mika Kares.

Enjoy a buffet-style selection featuring, among other delights, locally produced cheeses, cold cuts, and mouth-watering marinated treats. Special dietary requirements are accommodated based on advance notice at the time of booking. A pre-booked seat at the antipasto table served before the performance €22.90. The table is set 1.5 hours before the performance begins on the 3rd floor of Tampere Hall. There is a bar in the space where drinks can be ordered on the spot.
