A pioneer of Finnish female rock at Tuulensuu Palace!

Muska began her still-ongoing career as a singer in 1969. At the time, she was the only Finnish female rock singer whose repertoire included artists such as Janis Joplin and Tina Turner. Their songs are still part of her live set.

Muska spent her childhood in Kaivopuisto in Helsinki, where she first encountered rock music. On Huvilakatu there was a small bar, and outside it Muska listened with her brothers Sammy and Kirka to the strange music drifting out: Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and the like. It was the late 1950s, and the little budding musicians weren’t allowed inside yet!

Muska’s singing career took off in the 1960s, and in 1969–71 she toured on summer circuits with Kirka and Danny. In autumn 1971 she began being accompanied by the legendary Orpheus band led by Hannu “Hande” Salakka. Hande and Muska then founded a new band, Muska & Hot Dogs, which gigged extensively in the early 1970s, including joint tours with Hurriganes and Rauli “Badding” Somerjoki.

Her first single, Kirjoita postikorttiin (“Write on a Postcard”), was released in 1971, and the LP Muska followed in 1973. This debut album features the legendary Krokotiilirock (“Crocodile Rock”) and other covers from artists such as Chuck Berry, Nazareth, Suzi Quatro, and Slade. Performed by a Finnish woman, these hard-hitting songs became the spark that launched Finnish female rock as a whole. The album featured top musicians including Albert Järvinen, Pekka Pohjola, Ronnie Österberg, and others.

After that, many excellent albums were released: Tää se päivä on, Pienet suuret pojat, Pidä kii, and Kulissit. Her latest studio album, Majakanvartija (“The Lighthouse Keeper”), came out in 2015. Muska was awarded an artist’s pension in 2015.

Changes possible.

Show & Dinner Menu

Our 2026 menu has been created around the idea of a shared dining moment: dinner begins with a set of shareable starters served to the table, continues with a warm main course finished by our head chef, and ends with a generous dessert selection presented beautifully on serving platters for guests to share.

MENU:

Starter – shareable appetizers served to the table
Dinner begins with a rich and varied selection of starters laid out on the tables. We offer oven-fresh oat baguette, thinly sliced Napoli salami and Parma ham prepared in the Palatsi kitchen. For cheese lovers, we serve Brie de Meux as well as Mouhitaler cheese, the pride of Mouhijärvi. In addition, the table is set with fresh olives, marinated cherry tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, grilled balsamic zucchini, and shiitake mushrooms from Messukylä, Tampere, finished with rosemary salt.

Main course – served as an individual plated dish
For the main course, we serve beautifully seared duck breast fillet (L, G) with a velvety Pernod sauce. Accompaniments include classic Duchesse potatoes, lightly vanilla-infused cauliflower purée, and fresh orange-fennel salad.

Dessert – shareable dessert selection served to the table
Dinner concludes with a luxurious assortment of desserts, allowing guests to taste and share several different treats. We serve an Old Fashioned chocolate cake whose nostalgic flavor profile and rich texture evoke the atmosphere of traditional patisseries. Colorful macarons provide a light counterpoint, alongside a velvety Red Velvet cake whose festive elegance is impossible not to admire. The finale is a breath of the North: a cloudberry pastry with white chocolate mousse and caramel sauce.

VEGAN MENU:

Starter – appetizers served to the table
Dinner begins with a generous and varied selection of starters laid out on the tables. We offer oven-fresh oat baguette, beetroot carpaccio thinly sliced in the Palatsi kitchen, served with horseradish oat crème, beetroot chips, radishes, and radish sprouts. For lovers of tapas, we serve tomato bruschetta toasts and small rye bites with a vegan topping. In addition, the table is set with fresh olives, marinated cherry tomatoes and baby artichoke, grilled balsamic zucchini, and shiitake mushrooms from Messukylä, Tampere, finished with rosemary salt.

Main course – served as an individual plated dish
Palatsi “baba ganoush” (Vegan, Gluten-free)
Finnish organic teriyaki pulled oat protein, shiitake mushrooms grown in Tampere, roasted eggplant–garlic purée, zucchini-pepper sauté, and Penttilä Farm potato flatbread.

Dessert
Orange–chocolate raw cake (Vegan, Gluten-free)
Conjured up in the Palatsi kitchen, this intensely chocolatey and coconut-rich raw cake is served with seasonal berries, candied orange, and vegan vanilla mousse.

If you are gluten-free or lactose-free, or if you have any other allergies or special requests, our kitchen will create a dinner that takes your needs into account. It will be designed so that the sense of experience, beautiful presentation, and Palatsi’s recognizable flavor style remain unchanged.
