Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov composed his crowning work, Scheherazade, in 1888. Inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, this symphonic suite takes the listener on a magical journey through the folktales of the Middle East. Only six years later, Claude Debussy made history with Afternoon of a Faun, where the elusive harmonies mark the dawn of modern music.
Award-winning British composer and sitar virtuoso Jasdeep Singh Degun ties his North Indian roots to Western music. His sitar concerto Arya symbolizes the experiences of separation and unity: a lone hero challenges a group of like-minded individuals in a confrontation, culminating in a deep sense of connection.

Enjoy a buffet-style selection featuring, among other delights, locally produced cheeses, cold cuts, and mouth-watering marinated treats. Special dietary requirements are accommodated based on advance notice at the time of booking. A pre-booked seat at the antipasto table served before the performance €22.90. The table is set 1.5 hours before the performance begins on the 3rd floor of Tampere Hall. There is a bar in the space where drinks can be ordered on the spot. Check whether the menu is available for the performance and come enjoy!
