The musical tells the story of the most legendary rock cruise in Finnish history, featuring its creator Juice Leskinen, along with Eppu Normaali and Hassisen Kone. The Tuuliajolla tour was a series of rock concerts in lakeside towns around Lake Saimaa, with the bands sailing from city to city aboard the inland vessel Heinävesi. The first Tuuliajolla cruise took place in 1981, and five tours were organized throughout the 1980s.

The story begins when Eino, a sports journalist for a regional newspaper, is reluctantly assigned to cover the rock cruise after the paper’s music reporter falls ill. How will Eino manage, being a yuppie who despises rock music and prefers early nights? During the tour, he encounters Juice, Martti Syrjä, and Ismo Alanko. Luckily, the charming ship hostess Tia helps Eino navigate his journey among the wild rock musicians.

The Tuuliajolla tour follows the lives and adventures of Finnish rock artists on the road. The hilarious cruise takes place over one summer week in Finland. Eino’s yuppie lifestyle and values are completely turned upside down during the voyage — not least thanks to the delightful ship hostess. But how will the tour manager cope with the rock stars? And what about the ship’s captain? What does Eino think when he meets Andy McCoy, Armi Aavikko, and Danny?

The musical features hit songs from the early 1980s by Juice Leskinen, Hassisen Kone, and Eppu Normaali.
