The event will be introduced by the film’s screenwriter, choreographer, and director Tiina Lindfors. After the film screening, there will be an opportunity for a group discussion.

Tiina Lindfors’ short film was created in part in response to a social need. In 2016, researcher Ulla Tikkanen completed her doctoral dissertation on the challenges of daily life for informal caregivers. After seeing Lindfors’ dance work Ilta at the Kauniainen Music Festival, Tikkanen requested a dance-theatre film on the same topic to support her future lectures.

The film has been shown in Turku and across Finland, accompanied by lectures and panel discussions, as well as presented as an independent art piece. The Swedish national association for informal caregivers, Anhörigas Riksförbund, has also included the film in its distribution. The reception has been deeply moving, highlighting a strong societal need for this work.
