John Williams’ iconic film music live in Finland – classics from Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones performed in eight cities this spring
The international orchestra of young professional musicians, La Chapelle Sauvage, arrives in Finland in March with its concert The World of John Williams. The concerts will be performed in Oulu, Lahti, Hyvinkää, Kuopio, Tampere, Helsinki, Turku and Jyväskylä, featuring a magnificent selection of the legendary composer’s most beloved works. The orchestra is conducted by Karel De Wilde, with the talented Belgian soprano Louise Kuyvenhoven as soloist. Ticket sales begin today.
In The World of John Williams concerts, audiences will hear some of the most beloved classics of film music performed by the Belgian orchestra La Chapelle Sauvage. John Williams, one of the world’s most renowned film composers and recipient of numerous Grammy, Emmy and Golden Globe awards, has composed music for over one hundred films during his long career. The concert programme includes music from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Home Alone, Schindler’s List, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Superman, among others.
The La Chapelle Sauvage orchestra, made up of young professional musicians, is led by its founder Karel De Wilde, with soprano Louise Kuyvenhoven as soloist. Recognised as an exceptionally gifted musician, Kuyvenhoven has been selected for a special programme at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. She has performed at the Belgian National Opera and is also a member of the Lyon Opéra Studio in France. The ensemble is already familiar to Finnish audiences through several sold-out The Music of Hans Zimmer concerts in Finland.
The concerts are held in intimate venues, enhancing the musical experience with visual material displayed on video screens.

Enjoy a buffet-style selection featuring, among other delights, locally produced cheeses, cold cuts, and mouth-watering marinated treats. Special dietary requirements are accommodated based on advance notice at the time of booking. A pre-booked seat at the antipasto table served before the performance €22.90. The table is set 1.5 hours before the performance begins on the 3rd floor of Tampere Hall. There is a bar in the space where drinks can be ordered on the spot. Check whether the menu is available for the performance and come enjoy!
