Franz Schubert (arr. W. Matiegka): Quartet D96

Maurice Ravel: String Quartet in F Major

The works in this concert are separated by a century during which history experienced the emotional storms of an entire stylistic era. Wenzel Thomas Matiegka’s Notturno was so popular that early Romantic master Franz Schubert adapted it into a quartet for his family gatherings. Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, one of his first significant works, blends restrained emotion with technical brilliance, signaling the dawn of a new era. The concert is hosted by composer Minna Leinonen.
The concert lasts about two hours.
Changes are possible.
Production: Tampere Filharmonia
