Sustainability Packages at Tampere Hall

At Tampere Hall, we have established practices related to the environment, accessibility, equality and safety, which are applied in event delivery. Our Sustainability Packages can complement these with event-specific services such as sustainability reporting, communications support, carbon footprint calculation and funding of carbon sequestration.

The Sustainability Packages are available only for events held at Tampere Hall.

Sustainability packages

Meetings at Tampere Hall

For meetings, we offer two Sustainability Packages with different content and scope.

• Influencer – a broader package supporting the planning, reporting and communication of sustainability actions related to the event
• Partner – a package based on Tampere Hall’s existing practices and standard event services

Corporate events and other occasions

For corporate events, celebrations and other events, the package content is adapted to the nature, scale and objectives of the event.

• Influencer – a broader Sustainability Package that includes event-specific reporting, communications support and other separately agreed sustainability services
• Partner – a basic package bringing together practices related to the environment, accessibility, equality and safety as part of event delivery

The detailed package content is defined according to the nature and delivery of each event.

Influencer or Partner – what distinguishes the packages?

Influencer

The Influencer package is suitable for clients who want to incorporate sustainability actions into the planning, delivery, reporting and communications of their event.

The Influencer package includes, among other things:

• an overview of the event’s sustainability actions and reporting support
• sustainability communications support before and after the event
• a carbon footprint assessment based on event emissions and an agreed calculation scope
• the option to fund an amount of carbon sequestration corresponding to the event’s calculated emissions
• visibility in Talo Events and Tampere Hall channels, as separately agreed
• the option to allocate part of the package to selected social causes
• the option to support skills development in the events sector
• expert support for planning sustainability actions at different stages of the event

Partner

The Partner package brings together practices related to the environment, accessibility, equality and safety that are already used in the delivery of events at Tampere Hall. It is suitable for clients who want to make use of these as part of their event delivery.

At a general level, the Partner package includes:

• Tampere Hall’s environmental practices
• practices related to event catering, food waste and waste sorting
• practices related to accessibility, equality and safety

Event carbon footprint and carbon sequestration

Carbon footprint calculation and funding of carbon sequestration are included in the Influencer package. For the Partner package, funding of carbon sequestration is available as an additional service.

The event’s carbon footprint is calculated on the basis of event-specific data and an agreed calculation scope. The calculation may include, for example, the duration of the event, number of participants, participant travel and catering.

Based on the calculation, the amount of carbon sequestration to be funded is determined. Carbon sequestration is carried out in cooperation with Puuni Oy at Tampere Hall Group’s Kovalansuo afforestation site in Mikkeli. Carbon sequestration takes place as the trees grow over the monitoring period defined for the project.

Funding carbon sequestration is a climate action separate from the emissions generated by the event. It does not remove emissions generated by the event or make the event carbon neutral.
