Echoes of Kalevala (Kaikuja Kalevalasta) is an audiovisual concert experience celebrating the 190th anniversary of Finland’s national epic, the Kalevala. The performance blends the ancient Finno-Ugric tradition of rune singing with echoes of pop music. The songs, composed and written by kantele artist Ida Elina and inspired by the Kalevala, bring the legacy of rune singers to life in a new way. This unique concert evening features visual elements drawn from the short film Under the Northern Skies.
Echoes of the Kalevala premiered at Hyvinkääsali on February 22, and the Tampere concert on October 3 will mark the premiere of the orchestral arrangement, created by Erno Tiittanen.
The concert lasts about two hours. You can find the exact duration and more information on the orchestra’s website: www.tamperefilharmonia.fi/en/
You can buy tickets from the Tampere Hall ticket office, Aplodi and the Lippupiste online store (Lippupiste adds service fees and possible shipping fees to ticket prices).
Changes are possible.
