Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 4
Gustav Mahler explored the mystery of death with his grand symphonies. He came closest to the truth with the smallest of them: the Fourth Symphony paints a utopia of the afterlife, where abundance is enjoyed among friends. Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür’s recent violin concerto, “Conversations with the Unknown”, delves into the depths of human existence, mastered by the super violinist Vadim Gluzman.
