Beloved Sámi artist Mari Boine comes to Finland in May!

Known for her diverse singing talents, Mari Boine was born in Gámehisnjárga in the municipality of Karasjok in 1956. The multiple-time Spellemannprisen (Norway’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards or the Finnish Emma award) winner released her debut album in 1985 and rose to international fame with her second album, Gula Gula, released only a few years later in 1989. Over the course of her career, Boine has released more than ten albums combining Sámi musical traditions with Norwegian folk music, jazz, rock and pop. The Spellemannprisen Lifetime Achievement Award winner has collaborated with famous jazz musicians as well as remixers.
