Tampere Theatre and Tampere Hall invite you to the adventure of a lifetime when J. R. R. Tolkien’s beloved classic The Lord of the Rings™ will see its world premiere on stage of Tampere Hall’s Main Auditorium on August 23, 2024. This unique production combines unforgettable theatre, original music composed by Tuomas Kantelinen and played by the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as amazing circus performances by Sorin Sirkus.
Hobbits, Elves, Orcs, Ents, and other characters come to life when J. R. R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy adventure The Lord of the Rings™ is brought onto the stage in a whole new way. The theatrical masterpiece produced by Tampere Theatre and Tampere Hall is directed by Mikko Kanninen and, based on Kersti Juva’s Finnish translation, adapted for the stage by Sami Keski-Vähälä.
Starring in the main roles are e.g. Ella Mettänen (Frodo), Antti Reini (Aragorn), Ville Majamaa (Gandalf) and Risto Korhonen (Gollum). There are a total of 34 performances between August 22, 2024 and January 11, 2025. Tickets are on sale at Tampere Theatre, Tampere Hall, and Lippu.fi ticket sales channels.
Duration approximately 4 hours 15 minutes including two intermissions. The performance is recommended for ages 7 and up.
Light and sound effects and theatrical smoke are used during the performance.
Photography as well as video and sound recording are prohibited.
