The gateway between the hotel and Tampere Hall leads the guests straight to the congress and culture centre from the hotel. Marriott is opening its doors right on time for the big jubilee year: in 2020, Tampere Hall celebrates its 30th anniversary, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra reaches 90 years of age and the Moomin Museum celebrates Moomintroll’s 75th birthday.
– Establishing a hotel next to Tampere Hall has been a 30-year dream, that has come true now. For us, Tampere and the whole of Finland, it’s fantastic that the hotel is actually part of the internationally acclaimed Marriott hotel chain. Tampere Hall has been chosen the best event hall in Finland seven times, and now the hotel will only add to the appeal. From now on, while enjoying opera, ballet, concerts, museum visits and congresses, the guests can stay at a top international hotel, rejoices Tampere Hall’s Managing Director Paulina Ahokas.
The interior design of the hotel emanates modern, continental and streamlined elegance. The lounge area boasts international, Scandinavian and Finnish design furniture and artifacts. In the fine details, the hotel guests can observe for example Hanna Uggla‘s paintings, Finnish light fixtures by Innolux and Harri Koskinen, Danish GUBI‘s Bat Lounge armchairs as well as Coco Bar Chairs and Robert Stadler‘s No. 107 chairs by the German Thonet.
The building of the Courtyard Tampere City started in May 2018. The gross surface area is over 8 000 m2. The hotel is designed by the architectures of Arkkitehtitoimisto ALA and the building work was carried out by SRV Rakennus Oy. Before this hotel in Finland there were Marriott Hotels called Hotel St. George, Klaus K Hotel and Hotel Katajanokka, which have joined the chain later on after being opened.
