Responsibility in event services
Sustainability at Talo Events LTD
At Talo Events Ltd, we develop our services so that the environmental impacts of events can be identified and reduced. Our work also covers accessibility, equality, safety and cooperation with local partners.
Talo Events Ltd’s environmental management system is EcoCompass certified, and the company holds the Sustainable Travel Finland label. These frameworks support the continuous development and monitoring of our practices.

Our sustainability commitment
Talo Events Ltd’s sustainability commitment has been developed in cooperation with EcoCompass. It guides our environmental programme and our wider sustainability work.
At Talo Events Ltd, we are committed to developing our event services in ways that reduce the environmental impacts of our operations and advance equality, safety and wellbeing.
We consider environmental impacts in our decision-making, alongside the promotion of human rights and equality. We set objectives, monitor progress and develop our practices in cooperation with our staff, clients and partners.
We strengthen environmental competence across the organisation and encourage our staff to make choices that help reduce environmental impacts.
Our sustainability work is supported by a sustainability training team made up of representatives from different teams across the organisation. We report on our actions and their results annually as part of Tampere Hall Group’s sustainability reporting.

Certifications and frameworks
Talo Events Ltd’s environmental management system is EcoCompass certified. The system supports us in identifying environmental impacts, setting objectives and measures, monitoring progress and continuously developing our environmental practices. We have also voluntarily included social responsibility themes in our own programme, including equality, wellbeing and human rights.
Talo Events Ltd was awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) label in May 2025.
Visit Finland’s STF programme includes a seven-step development path covering ecological, social, cultural and economic aspects of tourism operations. The label requires completion of the programme tasks, documentation of the criteria and an external review.
The label is renewed regularly, and the development work continues after it has been awarded.
Tampere Hall, operated by the Group’s parent company Tampere-talo Ltd, has held the STF label since 2021.

Responsibility in corporate events
At Talo Events, we develop event services so that environmental impacts can be identified and reduced while accessibility, equality and safety are considered as part of event planning and delivery.
We provide event services at Tampere Hall, while our event agency and congress services operate at venues across Finland. The measures available depend on the type, scale and location of the event.
Sustainability Packages at Tampere Hall
For events held at Tampere Hall, we offer two Sustainability Packages that bring together practices and services related to event planning, delivery, reporting and communications.
Partner brings together Tampere Hall’s existing practices related to the environment, accessibility, equality and safety.
Influencer adds event-specific services such as sustainability reporting, communications support, carbon footprint calculation, funding of carbon sequestration and expert support.
Carbon footprint calculations are based on an agreed scope. Funding carbon sequestration is a separate climate action: it does not remove emissions generated by the event or make the event carbon neutral.

Tampere Live – responsibility in major events
Major events have environmental and social impacts that need to be considered in their planning and delivery. At Tampere Live, event-specific measures are defined according to the scale, venue and production of each event.
The EcoCompass environmental programme provides a framework for identifying environmental impacts, setting measures and monitoring their progress.
For Radio Nova Festival 2025, specific measures were included in the environmental programme to address the needs of the festival. Experiences from major events are used to develop our practices for future productions.
Tampere Live is a trade name of Talo Events Ltd.

Sponsor of the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation’s Old-Growth Forest programme and supporting member of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation
We are an “Old-Growth Forest Sponsor” of the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation, committed to protecting Finland’s ancient forests and their rich biodiversity. The Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation is a non-profit organisation that acquires and preserves valuable natural areas for future generations.
We are also a supporting member of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation – Finland’s largest and oldest environmental organisation, working to protect biodiversity and promote sustainable development. Through our membership, we aim to support their important work for the environment.
Our Old-Growth Forest Sponsorship and supporting membership are forms of financial support for nature conservation work.
These partnerships are separate from the environmental impacts of the events we produce. We address those impacts separately through event planning and measures such as resource use, waste management and, where agreed, carbon footprint calculation.

We Speak Gay – Our Commitment to Equality and Inclusion
Talo Events is proud to be part of the LGBTQIA+ friendly We Speak Gay community. The network aims to build a Finland where everyone feels welcome, safe, and accepted just as they are.
By joining the We Speak Gay community, we have committed to year-round rainbow-inclusive communication. This means taking concrete actions for equality – in our events, our communications, and our workplace culture. We want to be part of breaking down prejudice, increasing understanding, and creating a world where diversity is seen as a strength.
