Afternoon of Fauns is out to explore – from Finland to England, Colombia, and Japan. Helsinki-based Mioko Yokoyama’s Mineralization distils from chemical reactions into an adventurous four-instrument odyssey. Tampere’s own Tuomas Turriago sweeps us into the riotous rhythmic whirl of South America, while Britten’s mysteriously sonorous quartet pays respectful homage to Henry Purcell, father of English music.
The concert includes an intermission and will last about two hours.
Changes are possible.
Production by Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra
