The musical On the Town, telling the story of three sailors’ adventures in the pulse of a metropolis, made Leonard Bernstein a household name overnight. A series of three dance movements sways with 1940s groove while DJ-composer Mason Bates’s explosive cello concerto pulses to the beat of 21st-century club music. This is Americana, a melting pot glowing with the world’s musical styles!
The concert lasts about two hours and includes an intermission. The concert is part of the orchestra’s subscriber series, which includes a Pre-concert talk (Teokset tutuiksi) at 6 PM and childcare (Lapsiparkki, 10 €) starting from 6:45 PM.
