Traditional New Year’s Viennese Concerts Return to Finland in January 2027
The Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra will visit Turku, Tampere, and Helsinki in early January with a magnificent program familiar from the world-famous New Year’s Day concert broadcast to audiences around the globe. Ticket sales for performances by this orchestra—comprising some of Vienna’s finest musicians and soloists—begin on Friday, June 26, at 10:00 AM.
Ranked among Austria’s most renowned and internationally acclaimed chamber orchestras, the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra presents a traditional Viennese concert program inspired by the annual New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic, which attracts millions of television viewers worldwide each year.
The concert repertoire consists largely of music by Johann Strauss and other composers of the classical Viennese era. In keeping with tradition, the performance culminates in the famous Radetzky March, during which the audience joins in under the conductor’s guidance.
In Finland, audiences can enjoy the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra’s New Year’s Viennese Concerts on:
- Thursday, January 7, 2027 – New Music Hall, Turku
- Friday, January 8, 2027 – Tampere Hall
- Saturday, January 9, 2027 – Kulttuuritalo, Helsinki
The orchestra will be conducted by David Scarr.
The soloists include performers already familiar to Finnish audiences from previous years:
- Soprano Jenifer Lary (all cities)
- Soprano Simona Eisinger (Helsinki, 7:00 PM performance)
- Baritone Marco Di Sapia (all cities)
- Baritone Michel Havlicek (Helsinki, 7:00 PM performance)
The New Year’s Viennese Concerts have consistently attracted sold-out audiences year after year, so it is advisable to secure your seat for this magnificent musical experience well in advance.
