SIGUR RÓS PERFORMING WITH VANTAAN VIIHDEORKESTERI

A global success story as a pioneer of cosmic post-rock, Sigur Rós has maintained huge popularity and gradually grown their devoted fan base throughout their career for nearly 30 years. The band was founded in Reykjavík in 1994 and released their eighth album ÁTTA last year, continuing the adventurous but determined journey between the familiar and the obscure. One of the greatest musical treasures of Iceland, Sigur Rós previously performed in Finland in 2022, at a sold-out concert in Kulttuuritalo, Helsinki.

This time around, Sigur Rós performs their gigs in Finland with an orchestra of some of the country’s leading musicians, Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri. Performing as a large orchestral ensemble, Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri is a renowned partner with up-to-date expertise for all music professionals. The chief conductor is Nick Davies, who has conducted numerous acclaimed symphony orchestras around the world. The artistic director is a famous conductor and bass player Lauri Porra.
