The premiere concert of Utopia presents new compositions by five Finnish composers from different backgrounds. They have written their pieces for this specific group of performers based on a common theme. The compositions are by Antti Auvinen, Markus Fagerudd, Anna-Mari Kähärä, Mikko Sarvanne, and Selma Savolainen. The conductor of the concert is Atso Almila.
Sointi Jazz Orchestra is an innovative 17-person line-up, which has during its 10-year-old history grown accustomed to performing compilations tailored for them. The unique sound of the group comes from the instrumentation utilising uncommon replacement instruments.
Helsinki Chamber Choir was founded in 1962 as Radio Chamber Choir and took its current name in 2005. The diverse catalogue of the choir features music from the Renaissance to the present day, and the choir is especially appreciated for its work on new music.
Event changes are possible.
The concert will last about 90 minutes including an intermission.
