American Frank Zappa (1940–1993) is known as a musician and composer who forged his own path in the world of music. The concert will feature works from his extensive repertoire, including the most popular material, modern orchestral and chamber music, film, electronic music and jazz.
“Zappa’s individualism and sharp criticism of all areas of human activity continually led to conflicts with the outside world. On the other hand, forging his own way and remaining outside the musical community led him to develop many innovative, inventive, and exceptional musical concepts and approaches. These factors shaped Zappa’s musical language and aesthetics in a very unique way”, says conductor Jukka Iisakkila.
Changes are possible.
