Formed by original members of Leevi and the Leavings, Leavings Orchestra, with soloist Timo Rautiainen, brings the Christmas spirit to life! This lineup delivers a unique evening filled with the band’s most unforgettable hits and Christmas-themed songs at Tampere Hall on December 15.
Rare Christmas songs and hits by Gösta Sundqvist live
The band performs songs from the legendary Varasteleva Joulupukki album, written by Gösta Sundqvist in 1990, including Jossain on kai vielä joulu, Jouluksi mummolaan, Joulukertomus, and Soiva jouluyllätys, as well as Jouluaattona kännissä from the special edition of the album Rakkauden planeetta. Naturally, the evening also features many of the band’s greatest hits, such as Teuvo, maanteiden kuningas, Mitä kuuluu Marja-Leena?, Kyllikki, Pohjois-Karjala, Poika nimeltä Päivi, Itkisitkö onnesta?, and Rin Tin Tin, all performed live with the deeply expressive interpretation of the acclaimed vocalist Timo Rautiainen.
Original lineup on stage
The group consists of original Leevi and the Leavings members: bassist Risto “Rife” Paananen, mandolinist and guitarist Juha Karastie, and drummer-guitarist Niklas Nylund. They are joined by keyboardist Janne Teuronen and backing vocalist Tiia Teuronen. Leavings Orchestra charmed audiences at Nokia Arena in Tampere during the Suomirockin juhlaa concert in December.
“Gösta Sundqvist’s brilliant lyrics, instantly memorable melodies, and the band’s distinctive Leevi and the Leavings sound, combined with Rautiainen’s powerful interpretation, make for outstanding entertainment regardless of the season. Now, by popular demand, the concert set has been enriched with the band’s wonderful Christmas-themed songs. There’s no need to wonder where to find the most joyful pre-Christmas party atmosphere — this comes highly recommended for both groups of friends and workplace gatherings!” comments promoter Taija Holm.
Duration: approx. 2 hours, including an intermission.
The concert has no age restriction. There are designated licensed seating areas.

Boxes A and B in the Main Auditorium are designated as 18+ licensed areas. Guests with tickets for these seats may bring drinks purchased before the show or during the intermission into the auditorium. Enjoy a buffet-style selection featuring, among other delights, locally produced cheeses, cold cuts, and mouth-watering marinated treats. Special dietary requirements are accommodated based on advance notice at the time of booking. A pre-booked seat at the antipasto table served before the performance €22.90. The table is set 1.5 hours before the performance begins on the 3rd floor of Tampere Hall. There is a bar in the space where drinks can be ordered on the spot. Check whether the menu is available for the performance and come enjoy!
