Welcome to celebrate Tove Jansson’s birthday on August 9, 2025, at Tampere Hall!

Tampere, the home city of the world’s only Moomin Museum, will celebrate the Moomins’ 80th anniversary by hosting the Moomin 80 –The Grand Birthday Celebration on Tove Jansson’s birthday, August 9, 2025. Tampere Hall, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, the Moomin Museum, and the entire city of Tampere invite families to join the festivities.

Throughout the day, Tampere Hall will be filled with a variety of birthday activities. There will be pancakes, dances, friendship bracelet crafting, discussions, music performances, and the traditional wreath-laying ceremony at the Moomintroll statue. The celebrations will culminate in the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Tampere Hall, and Tampere Energy’s Park Concert.

Tampere will celebrate the Moomins’ 80th anniversary all year long with various events.
