With Love – Tampere Conservatoire

Tampere Conservatoire turns 95 this year! This anniversary concert for the whole family brings a wonderful array of performers to Tampere Hall’s Main Auditorium, from the youngest music and dance pupils to a full symphony orchestra and dancing alumni. A celebration bringing together students from basic arts education and vocational training is a rare treat, so join us to enjoy the performances and cheer everyone on!

Dance takes centre stage in the first half of the concert, heralded by a brass fanfare. The programme features children’s dance, ballet, contemporary dance, jazz/pop dance and show dance, alongside live performances of Piazzolla’s music. Spanish Erasmus+ exchange students will join the vocational dance students’ performance. The Children’s Singing School will bring its own tender moment to the celebrations. And if your feet are not already tapping, they certainly will be when the large percussion ensemble takes to the stage.

After the interval, the Tampere Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra fills the stage. Under the baton of Elisar Riddelin, the orchestra will sweep the audience into Márquez’s Danzón No. 2. Pianist Sauli Aaltonen joins the orchestra for the first movement of Grieg’s beloved Piano Concerto. For a magnificent finale, Finlandia, featuring a large anniversary choir, will bring the celebrations to a soaring close!

You are also warmly invited to join the afternoon’s pre-concert festivities at Tampere Hall’s Lobby Club! Performers include string orchestras, pianists, flautists, recorder players, and accordion and guitar ensembles. A salon orchestra will perform in the second-floor foyer before the concert, while singers will provide musical interludes during the interval.

When purchasing your concert ticket, you can also book a place at the Conservatoire’s anniversary dinner, held after the concert from 8:30 pm at Paja Congress Centre (Sokos Hotel Torni). Dinner tickets are available until 20 November 2026. Proceeds will go to Tampere Conservatoire’s scholarship fund. Find out more about the dinner here.
