Hobbits, Ents, Elves, and other inhabitants of Middle-earth all originate from the fascinating and rich imagination of the father of fantasy literature, J.R.R. Tolkien (1892–1973). The author’s monumental fantasy work The Lord of the Rings and other popular writings have inspired new art forms for decades, ranging from visual arts to radio plays, films to video games, and theater to television.
Welcome to Tampere Hall to hear the discussion panel Inspired by Tolkien. The panelists are Canadian fantasy illustrator John Howe, director Mikko Kanninen and composer Tuomas Kantelinen from The Lord of the Rings play premiering at Tampere Hall in August, and M.A. in Literary Studies and avid Tolkien fan Susanna Keinänen from the Finnish Tolkien Society Kontu ry. The discussion will be moderated by Tampere Hall producer Antti Oksa.
Produced by Tampere Hall Ltd.
