Young star violinist Iidamari Ahonen and pianist Naoko Shibayama-Aarnio interpret Sibelius, Bach and Ravel
Iidamari Ahonen has successfully participated in several violin competitions, earning the third place in the Concours Grumiaux competition in 2015. She is the young soloist of Tampere Filharmonia for 2014 and of Radio Symphony Orchestra for 2016. Iidamari Ahonen has participated in many master classes in Finland and abroad with Jan Repko and Per Enokkson, among others, as her instructors. In 2018, she performed at the Quattro Corde festival in Ravenna, Italy. Hauho Music Festival appointed Ahonen as the Young Artist of 2019.
Naoko Shibayama-Aarnio completed her doctoral degree at Sibelius Academy in 2000. She has studied under the direction of Izumi Tateno, Timo Mikkilä, Erik. T. Tawaststjerna and Jussi Siirala and participated in several classes in Finland and abroad. In 1994–95, she complemented her studies in Paris as an exchange student at the Conservatoire de Paris. Shibayama-Aarnio has regularly given recitals and performed as a chamber musician and a soloist of an orchestra in Finland, different European countries and Japan.
Iidamari Ahonen and Naoko Shibayama-Aarnio have played many concerts together, including in Tampere Hall.
