International CONNECT Route Development Forum 2022 takes place in Tampere

The CONNECT Route Development Forum, which brings together international airports and airlines, will be held in Tampere on 23-25. February 2022. The applicants for the event were the City of Tampere, Business Tampere and Visit Tampere. Held for the 18th time, the event has taken its place as one of the most important events in the aviation industry in Europe. More than six hundred aviation decision-makers are expected to meet in Tampere to meet each other for the first time after the restrictions imposed by the covid pandemic. – The need for physical meetings and face-to-face negotiations is currently great. The event is being organized in Finland for the first time, and with it we will get important people deciding on flight routes to Tampere and we will be able to show them the best of the area, says Marja Aalto, Visit Tampere, Specialist in Aviation. In Tampere, Connect with ice was chosen as the theme of the event. The goal is to provide congress delegates with experiences in winter nature. – This is an excellent opportunity to highlight Tampere from the perspective of air traffic influencers and tourists alike. CONNECT is an important event for the entire region, and February is a great opportunity to highlight our winter expertise in air traffic, among other things. Our special expertise in winter maintenance, the so-called snowhow, is already widely known in the world, but CONNECT provides an opportunity to present it to air traffic decision-makers and other top experts in the field, says Harri Airaksinen, CEO of Business Tampere and Visit Tampere. The aim of the event is to help, in particular, rebuild the air networks and redesign the strategy. – Following the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, our event will provide an invaluable platform for the aviation community to network. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of human connections and physical events. We look forward to bringing the people of the aviation industry together to Tampere, says Karin Butot, CEO of the CONNECT Route Development Forum. Tampere Hall serves as the main venue. Tampere Hall with its PCO-team Tavicon have been involved in the planning of the event from an early stage. – We are proud and happy to welcome the event to Tampere Hall! Making Tampere internationally known is one of our goals too, and we see this event as a great opportunity from that perspective as well, says Mika Nevalainen, Business Director of Tampere Hall. For us, too, the event is the first major international event since the pandemic, so we see a positive signal about the return of events, and especially physical encounters.   Text Business Tampere, Tampere Hall Photo Visit Tampere / Laura Vanzo Video CONNECT Aviation – Route Development Forum
