Lentoyhtiöiden edustajat kokoontuvat Tampereella – Airlines meet in Tampere, Finland

In English below. Tänään 23.2.2022 Tampere-talossa käynnistyy loppuviikon kestävä ilmailualan CONNECT Route Development Forum -tapahtuma. Noin viisisataa kansainvälistä lentoyhtiöiden ja lentoasemien edustajaa 45 eri maasta kokoontuvat ilmailualan verkostoitumistapahtumaan Tampereelle. Mukana on edustajia noin kuudestakymmenestä lentoyhtiöstä sekä yli 250 lentoasemaa ja alihankkijaa. CONNECT on ensimmäinen pandemian jälkeen Tampereella järjestettävä kansainvälinen konferenssi. Tapahtuma järjestetään 18. kerran, nyt ensimmäistä kertaa Suomessa. –  Lentoliikenteen kehittäminen on oleellista Tampereen seudun kasvun ja elinvoiman varmistamiseksi. Seudun kansainvälisille markkinoille suuntautuneet yritykset, sekä matkailu- ja tapahtuma-ala vaativat sujuvia ja säännöllisiä lentoyhteyksiä. Tampereen lentoasema sijaitsee ihanteellisella paikalla noin 1,5 miljoonan asukkaan vaikutusalueella, jolla sijaitsee 60 prosentin osuus maan elinkeinotoiminnasta. Meillä on vahva luottamus menestyksekkääseen ja kannattavaan lentoliikennetoimintaan, joka perustuu alueen jatkuvaan ja nopeaan kasvuun, sanoo Business Tampereen toimitusjohtaja Harri Airaksinen. – Tampereen tavoite on olla avoin, kansainvälinen kaupunki, joka kiinnostaa niin yritystoimintaa kuin vapaa-ajan viettäjiä. Esimerkiksi tapahtumat ja tapahtumateollisuus ovat kaupungin elinvoiman ja houkuttelevuuden kulmakiviä, ja haluamme tukea alan nousua ja uuden liiketoiminnan luomista elämysten ympärille. Tampereelle pitää olla helppo tulla. Hyvät lentoyhteydet ovat elintärkeitä koko Tampereen seudun elinkeinoelämälle, tutkimukselle, turismille, osaajille ja innovaatioille, Tampereen pormestari Anna-Kaisa Ikonen toteaa. – On hienoa tavata pitkästä aikaa kasvokkain, kahden pandemiavuoden jälkeen, ja päästä esittelemään Tamperetta paikan päälle saapuville vieraille, jotka päättävät yhtiöiden tulevista lentoreiteistä. Tapahtuman aikana esittelemme heille muun muassa uutta Nokia Arenaa, sekä sen myötä seudun korkeatasoista teknologiaosaamista, lentoliikenteen erityisasiantuntija Marja Aalto Visit Tampereesta sanoo. The participants will network and discuss current and future air transport links. – Development of the air transportation services is now the most important issue for the growth and well-being of Tampere region. The globally oriented companies and tourism require frequent and smooth flight connections. The Tampere airport is ideally located with the catchment area of 1,5 million of inhabitants and the 60 per cent of the economic activities of the country. We have a strong opinion and vision of the successful and profitable flight business based on the constant and quick growth of the region, says Harri Airaksinen, the CEO of Business Tampere. – Tampere wants to be an open and international city that is an attractive destination for business and leisure. For example events and the event industry are building blocks for city’s vitality. We as a city want to support the recovery of the event industry and the creation of new business opportunities around it. Tampere must be easy to reach, and good flight connections are vital to our companies, research community, tourism, talents and innovations, says Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, the Mayor of Tampere. – It’s great to meet face to face after such a long time, after two pandemic years, and get to introduce Tampere to the visitors who decide on the airlines’ future routes. During the event, we will introduce them for example the new Nokia Arena and the high-level technological know-how of the region, says Senior Specialist Marja Aalto from Visit Tampere.
